His work began in 2007 when he invested his 401k to create his first feature film, “Nothing But a Thang,” a romantic comedy that introduced him to key collaborators Roy Richards and Kelly Gray. His commitment to learning the craft from every angle led to multiple collaborations with influential mentors Arthur Muhammad and M. Legend Brown. Starting with roles both in front of and behind the camera in “Sweet Justice” (2009), starring Reagan Gomez-Preston and Tammy Thomas, Hunt developed a reputation for versatility and reliability. His work on “Hiding in Plain Sight” (2012) alongside Charles Malik Whitfield and “Steps of Faith” further refined his understanding of the filmmaking process.
Hunt’s technical expertise expanded significantly through his work as key grip and production assistant on notable projects like “Gutta Mamis: Money Bag Tales” (2020) and “Carter High” (2015), the latter featuring an all-star cast including Vivica Fox, Charles Dutton, and Pooch Hall.
